FAQ
Tattoo font generator questions
What is a tattoo font generator?+
It sets your words in tattoo lettering styles so you can compare them side by side. TryStencil also lets you curve the text, try it on a photo of your skin and turn it into a stencil at the real width.
Which fonts are included?+
Twelve open-licence styles: classic script, fine script, copperplate, thin handwritten, flourish, signature, Italian cursive, Old English, bold blackletter, Roman serif, fine line sans and typewriter.
How small can tattoo lettering be?+
It depends on the font and your artist. Fine script blurs sooner than bold print, so preview the exact width in centimetres and ask your artist before you commit.
Do I need to mirror the stencil?+
Transfer stencils for lettering are usually reversed. The stencil tab has a mirror-for-transfer switch — confirm with your artist which way they print.
